These islands are among the wounders of the world: they numbers about 2000. A hundred or less of these islands lie together in a circle in the form of a ring... 
All the inhabitants of these islands are Musalmans, pious and honest people... 
The food of the natives consists of a fish like lyroun, which they koulb almas. Its flesh is red... Most of the trees on these islands are coconuts; they furnish the food of the inhabitants along with the fish..."
